We build and test them in Renfrew County, Ontario Canada. They neither hydraulic neither gravity feed. Latest models use pull & chip processing. Logs loaded horizontally then blades on a drum first pull then chip at the same time. Hydraulic feeding too expensive and requires maintenance, gravity feeding requires tedious work, first lifting trees, then dropping them vertically down. May be okay for small trees, but definitely not okay for large heavy trees.
We mainly specialize and build them either for farmers or for tree removing companies. Most units have diesel installed. We found diesel engines work better under heavy loads. They last longer and more efficient. Usually back of a pickup truck gets full in less in a hour.
You may change gear ratio and get different fraction of chips. You may also change working RPMs.

Works great! It is a good Chipper for the price. It pull’s the branches in to the drum by itself. Not to Much pushing to feed it. Powerfull engine
It takes a lot to make it bog down. Overall satisfaction.

Hello Jenny, please fill out “Email when Stock Available” we will send you an email once chippers In stock. 660XT chippers will have an option with 2 different diesels installed. 660cc diesel, or 720cc diesel. Chassis and everything else the same.

I bought one of your diesel wood chippers earlier in the year and it has done so much work clearing 3 acres of brush. It runs louder than I expected but its power is immense. It just grabs the branches and pulls them right through the machine. I have had one issue with the chipper that required a replacement engine. Once the issue was identified, the engine was replaced then I received a phone call on a Sunday saying the machine was fixed and ready for collection. Customer service was fantastic.

After a thorough search, we finally found the perfect wood chipper: the WWD-660XT. The Ironshop, located about a two-hour drive from our home, was an absolute delight to visit. The buying experience was exceptional. The friendly and knowledgeable professionals at Ironshop are experts in forest equipment. They patiently explained the intricacies of the chipper and even provided a demonstration. These impressive units boast a Yanmar-Mosin high-output (17HP) 660cc one-cylinder diesel engine with a push-button start and ample torque. They are also well-built and reasonably priced compared to other options. Needless to say, we made the purchase.
Our hand-built and tested machine was ready for pickup within a few days. Today, we finally got the chance to use it and the results were nothing short of amazing. The chipper effortlessly munched through a substantial pile of dead branches, producing perfectly sized wood chips. It’s also economical, capable of running for hours on a single tank of fuel.
We are very satisfied with our purchase and highly recommend the Ironshop.
